Hydrophone Mounts
Brooke Ocean Technology (USA) Inc. offers off-the-shelf and custom-designed hydrophone mounts for land- and vessel-based applications.![]() Our extensive experience with both shipboard equipment and instrument sensors means we can provide the right solution for your particular installation. BOT USA have both static and manual / power-articulated designs, each of which can be used "off-the-shelf" or customized to meet your particular specification. The hydrophone boom shown to the right is designed for semi-permanent installation on the side of a dock, allowing hydrophone readings to be taken without having to set up and deploy the equipment each time. If required, the hydrophone boom can be rotated up and locked in position, making removal of the hydrophone much easier, or to simply keep the equipment out of the water. For long periods of inactivity, the entire boom assembly can be removed from its mounting bracket and stored elsewhere.![]() In this type of installation, boom / hydrophone stability is provided by a positive-lock pin system and wire stays that run from the hydrophone end of the boom to the dock. ![]() This type of installation can also be deployed on vessels with low freeboard. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The concept illustration to the right shows a powered version of a small, articulated hydrophone boom deployed from a patrol vessel. The hydraulically-powered boom rotation allows it to be mounted in otherwise unsafe or inaccessible areas of the vessel. This flexibility in mounting allows the system to be deployed from the most useful location rather than the most accessible.
